1. Primary School French Learning Assistant
Swiss International School, Qatar, seeks an outstanding and forward-thinking Primary French Learning Assistant for the Academic Year 2025-26. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to be part of a team of educators who are further developing the primary department at SISQ.
General Responsibilities:
- Support for Children:
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all children.
- Encourage students to interact, work cooperatively with others, and engage in activities, e.g., classroom learning tasks and activities during after-school care.
- Plan, prepare and support agreed learning activities under the guidance of a teacher.
- Adjust activities according to the responses and needs of the students.
- Monitor and assess learning activities, which may involve recording and providing feedback to a teacher.
- Establish constructive relationships and communication with colleagues to support the achievement and progress of students.
- Understand the individual needs of students and be responsible for advising them on learning social, health and hygiene development.
- Supervise students before school and during break times.
- Take care of students who are upset or unwell and accompany a sick or injured student to the school nurse or clinic.
- Accompany students on school visits or to enrichment activities.
2. Grounds, Health & Safety Supervisor (Facility Department)
Key Responsibilities:
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) policies aligned with local legal standards and international accreditation bodies (CIS, IB).
- Keep all health and safety policies up to date with current laws and best practices.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations set by Qatari authorities and international bodies.
- Perform regular inspections to identify risks and ensure adherence to HSSE policies.
- Highlight areas for improvement and ensure timely and effective implementation of corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and lead emergency response plans and drills.
- Investigate and report accidents/incidents to senior management and external authorities where required.
- Conduct training sessions for staff and contractors on health and safety practices.
- Promote a strong culture of safety through communication, awareness, and educational campaigns.
- Security Operations
- Develop and enforce security policies and procedures for the school.
- Manage and supervise security systems including CCTV, alarms, access control systems, and emergency alert systems.
- Ensure access to the school is strictly controlled, issuing and monitoring ID badges and access cards.
- Oversee on-site security personnel and coordinate with external security service providers.
- Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies, reporting as necessary.
- Liaise with school leaders, staff, parents, and the wider community on security-related concerns.
- Facilities Use & Oversight
- Along with the Facility officer, collaborate with the Facilities Technician to identify, report, and follow up on urgent or unsafe maintenance issues.
- Supervise maintenance and repair work taking place outside regular school hours with guidance from the Facility officer.
- Carry out and document internal inspections jointly with the Operations Manager and Facilities Officer, with special attention to after-hours usage.
- Ensure SISQ resources, equipment, and facilities are used and stored responsibly after school hours.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with SISQ hub partners and external users of school facilities, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines.
- Provide logistical and safety support to the School Life team during school/community events.
3. Secondary Geography Teacher
General Responsibilities:
- As the Secondary Geography Teacher (MYP/DP) you will be required to:
- Manage learning:
- A commitment to student learning and safeguarding.
- Show commitment to students and their learning.
- Demonstrate expertise in the subjects you teach and in the delivery of the content.
- Apply differentiation in class.
- Encourage inquiry learning and concept-based instruction.
- Use varied assessments in class to reflect students’ learning
- Take responsibility for managing and monitoring each student’s progress
- Ensure that all evidence and recording of student's work are kept up-to-date, ensuring accuracy in reporting writing through peer review
- Report to parents through informal and formal meetings, anecdotal records, incident report, reflection, feedback and conferences
- Ensure the safety and welfare of the students and resources in your care
- Professional management of self, planning and reflection:
- Work collaboratively with all SISQ staff; able to demonstrate your collaborative planning and reflection, level weekly planning, involvement in the Secondary School/Whole School meetings, School events etc.
- Ensure thorough planning, informed delivery, assessment of the IB programs of Study, Scope and Sequence, Areas of Inquiry and target setting are in accordance with the IBO requirements so as to facilitate progression in learning.
- Weekly planning is available and long-term schemes of work are planned for the year.
- Implement SISQ policies at all times.
- Show a positive attitude in dealing with the students, parents and colleagues.
- Promptly respond to any parent queries / concerns, escalating where required
