Instructional Assistant Professor - Electrical and Computer Engineering
The candidate should possess a doctorate degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Applicants must have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. degree by the time of the start date. The successful candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level and a strong dedication to carry out service activities.
Preference will be given to applicants familiar with the U.S. higher education system, with excellent expertise in computer engineering and programming and outstanding teaching experience in well-respected universities. The 9-month appointment includes a 3-3 teaching load during Fall-Spring semesters. The successful applicant will also be expected to teach two courses during the summer semester for an additional 3 months of salary.
The applicant's primary responsibility will be teaching courses in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Candidates in all areas will be considered, but those in areas of computer engineering and programming are particularly encouraged to apply. This position assumes only teaching and service duties and does not assume research activities. Applicants should have solid programming skills (Python, C, C++, Java, VHDL or Verilog, etc.) and be capable of teaching Phyton, C, Computer Programming and Architecture, Digital Systems Design, Computer Architecture and Design, and Microprocessor Systems Design. Experience with PLAs, ARM Cortex-M and embedded microprocessor platforms, computer architectures is required. Applicants who can offer new undergraduate courses such as App development for iOS and Android, programming of machine learning (AI) applications, computer networks represent a plus.
